Chioggia Cookery Lesson

WineryVineyard tourThis day we visit the fish market of Chioggia and have a cookery lesson in a well known restaurant.

Chioggia is the second biggest city in the lagoon of Venice, located at it's southern end near the delta of the river Brenta. They call it the little sister of Venice. And they are right.

Like in Venice many canals are crossing the city, there even exists a Canal Grande, the Canal Grande della Vena. Everything reminds on of Venice - the venecian style buildings, lovely bridges.

The Fish Market is also well worth a visit. It is located between Corso del Popolo and Canal Vena, and is filled with a rich variety of fish from the sea and lagoon: bibarasse (clams) and caparossoli (carpet shell clams), sievali (gray mullet) and bisati (eels) and many others.

 

 

Scheduled time

  • 10.00 p.m. Departure from Tenuta Castel Venezze.
  • 11.00 a.m. Arrival in Chioggia and visit at the local fish-market.
  • 12,00 Lunch in a typical restaurant and hands-on cooking lesson learning from the chef how to make some typical local recipes.
  • 02.00 p.m. Brief Walk along the canals of the “little Venice”
  • 04.00 p.m. Arrival at Tenuta Castel Venezze.
